Join the Movement

By signing the PUSH Pledge, you are committing to a world where woman-centred care (WCC) is the standard—where every woman has the right to respectful, empowering care, and where midwives are recognised as key providers of that care.

The PUSH Campaign offers different tiers of engagement, allowing individuals and organisations to participate in ways that align with their capacity and expertise. Whether you are an advocate, campaigner, collaborator, or investor, there is a role for you in the movement.

PUSH Campaign Pledge

  • I agree with the PUSH Principles.
  • I commit to talking to people in my life about their right to respectful, empowering woman-centred care.
  • I commit to acting locally and globally to demand woman-centred care and midwives.

PUSH Campaign Principles

  • Holistic and Comprehensive: Woman-centred care (WCC) addresses physical health needs while also considering emotional, social, cultural, and spiritual factors that influence wellbeing. This continuous and holistic approach ensures that care is tailored to the whole person across their life course.
  • Evidence and Empowerment: WCC is informed by scientific research and best practices, respectful of and tailored to the cultural, linguistic, and individual needs of women in all their diversity, while ensuring services are accessible and equitable for all.
  • Respect and Autonomy: Women are the experts on their bodies. They have the right to respect and to make informed choices about their care.
  • Partnership and Rights: Midwives are experts on providing woman-centred sexual, reproductive, maternal and adolescent healthcare. They build collaborative empowering partnerships with women and protect and uphold their rights.
  • Leadership: Midwives should be recognised and enabled to provide WCC. Women should be included in decision making.
